Have you watched this korean drama titled "18 Again" starred by Kim Ha Neul, Lee Do-Hyun and Yoon Sang Hyun? This drama got me broke into tears for several times and of course staying all night to catch up every episode. Basically the storyline was about the man regretted his choice over pregnant teen girlfriend than his promising career in basketball. His sacrifice led to the marriage falling apart. He got the chance to be young again.  However, such an opportunity still asserts his initial intention he made 18 years ago. Being young again made him realised of the gaps that he had to fill in to make the marriage and family well again.  It was my first time seeing Kim Ha Neul acting in a drama, am so surpised of how she does not look like her current age which is 42 (in 2021). Wondering how she keep up with the youthful and superb skin past 40s.  Husband and I have been married for more than 10 years. It is definitely there are ups and downs that happened in marri...

How to Embrace a Minimalist Lifestyle: 5 Things I’m Not Buying This Year

Image
Embarking on a Minimalist Journey   Adopting a minimalist lifestyle isn't something that happens overnight. After reading *Minimalism* by Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus during last year’s lockdown, I realised the importance of living with less to achieve greater happiness, contentment, and freedom from materialism. Inspired by Marie Kondo’s approach to decluttering—keeping only what “sparks joy”—I’m challenging myself to embrace the minimalist mantra of “only what you need.” But it’s not easy. Parting with items I already own often brings guilt, knowing they’ll likely end up in a landfill. To stay on track, I’ve created a list of things I’m not buying this year to reduce unnecessary clutter at home. 1. Notebooks and Physical Planners   I already have a collection of notebooks and planners. In today’s digital age, I mostly take notes on my mobile devices or apps. While I enjoy the occasional scribble on paper, I’ve decided to use the notebooks I already hav...

Lockdown is a money growing opportunity.

Growing money vctor image by Freepik Covid-19 pandemic has indeed affect many people, forcing them to be part of the unemployment statistics. Myself is also not exempted from the threats of losing my sunset industry job.  Been working with the company for nine years. These few recent years, there has been multiple announcements on retrenchment and downsizing exercises.  Strangely, the bosses would decide to do it at the advent of Chinese New Year. Do they think that breaking the news during that time will be good for those celebrating the festival?  Having enough with the emotional torture from the company, I decided that 2021 will be the year I get better in money managing including getting involved in investment.  There is always opportunity when the crisis occurs.  I have to give credit to husband on teaching me this valuable lesson. That's why they say marry someone who is better than you, then you will be motivated to go on same direction.  Apart from ...

People changed after months of lockdown?

Image
It is February now. But the country is still under semi-lockdown.  Semi lockdown is totally a wrong choice of words. It is either lockdown or not a lockdown.  But, the politicians in my beloved countries just could not make up their mind about the rulings. Anyhow, as the government allows dine-in with 2-people at a table. I thought of spending part of my 4 hours me-time every Wednesday to hangout with a friend by having a  quick coffee, or "yumcha" session.  That person used to be a close friend who went for food tasting here and there before Covid-19. It had been months since we met each others. Out of all the things I wanted to do on my off day as a mom who juggles work and homeschool my daughter, I chose to spend time with the friend.  It was because she agreed to it that I made time for it.  Unexpectedly, most of the time she was gluing her eyes to a laptop designing a Chinese New Year greeting card for her boss.  There were minimal eyes contact du...
