Why Maybank should give me tickets to Legoland?

Image
Maybank should give me tickets to Legoland because I spared my precious time to blog about this in exchange to those tickets worth RM280. Yes, in short word I am Kiasu and love freebies. Johor Bahru is well known for the high cost-of-living. Of course everything-accomodation, transportation and food will cost double than before the "majestic land" is erected. Somemore, I am from East Malaysia- I have to pay extra for the flight tickets. A little "courtesy" from Maybank will surely add a lot happiness to my coming vacation. Another reason is the free tickets will strengthen the bond between my husband-to-be and I. As both of us have been travelling together since we started dating, a pair ticket will be sweet. (As both of us are also clients to Maybank's saving and credit cards, it seems like we deserve to stand a chance for the offers). As I am a blogger, I will definitely jot down my experience having fun at the Legoland afterw...

A place to buy fresh fruits.

Image
Pick and Pay has recently opened at Likas Square (next to Sabah Trade Center). This shop has been This shop is famous for its fresh and cheap fruits.   I could get an apple priced below RM1 as compared to outside, they will be priced at least RM1.30. Not only that, I am happy as it also sells roses, sunflowers, Lily’s and etc at the store. I just love flower to be placed at my personal vase.   There is also a sushi counter, with the presence of staff making sushis around the clock. Other interesting items are the Korea Kimchi, drinks and others. Opening hours is until 10.30pm. In Likas Square, it is located next to post office.

PTD assessment at Intan Sabah 2012

Image
When I got the reply from Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam to attend the assessment for the post of PTD, I was so excited to think of the six-time meal per day. But out of my expectation, the INTAN Sabah here provides limited food source that some of the candidates were left with only gravy to be eaten with rice-the food are mostly salty that it will cause transient hypertension, literally. And, even the drinking water is a limited supply. I am regret for not bringing any instant noodles or drinking water, I think I had lost a Kilogramme after joining the two-day programme. On the registration day, myself and other 64 candidates came by 8am. However, organizer was late. A facilitator was scolding candidates for entering the lobby before we were told so. He had also remark a pregnant candidate with “Kena buatan orang”. He insisted us to stand at the hallway as if we were the mischievous who didn’t finish our homework. During the briefing, Fadzli mentioned a lot about LEAD/LIT...

A five-hour trip to Ipoh town.

Image
Ipoh, a small town in Perak, is just a two-hour trip from Kuala Lumpur. I took the ERL at KL Sentral on Platinum price of RM55/pax. It departs at 8am. I could say that journey using the service is satisfactory as it is not crowded, air-conditioned, spacious, clean and there are breakfast served. The railway station. I mean, seriously!!! The railway station is one of the impressive historical buildings built during British colonial era. Although it is a historical structure, but it is well-maintained. The Chinese shop near the railway station. Despite the old chinese shops around here, but I had to walk about 25 minutes to reach the vicinity of dim sum restaurants. Scrumptious dim sum. Especially the crab meat+scallop dim sum which is exclusively available in Ipoh only. The yam (purple color) is special as it is sweetened and there are raisins in it. Suitable for sweettooth people. I admit that the waitress are really nice as she ...

Back to KK for a week.

It was only a year that I stayed in Kuala Lumpur, but once I am here in hometown, I could feel the major changes that I am still taking time to adapt them. Previously in Sabah, my colleagues used to make fun of me for driving like an aunty who just got her driving license- driving at the speed below 60km/h and is scared to enter the lane with lots of moving cars. But now, I feel like I am driving Ferrari as other cars seem to be static, literally. Eventhough I am at the speed of 65Km/h. I find it is really annoying that people putting on their signal light but is dumb enough to get into the lane. I slowed down for them yet they were not moving. Now, I get it why cars here are going like ghost riders- There’s no point of giving in. To my surprise, the summonses enforcement is stricter than before. Yes!!! Traffic police is quite efficient in giving reckless drivers (including me) tickets for illegal parking. I had my first ever ticket priced at RM150. It burns a hole i...

I am behaving like KL people.

The moment I touched down Kota-Kinabalu airport, I said out loud to a car owner blocking my family's car, "Move, move...can't you see we are moving" for few times. My fiance claimed I was carried with KL attitude-being demanding and mean in exercise own rights. Recently, this car shipping company agent in Port Klang had really got into my nerves by charging me RM2,300. The uncle was so nice to me, ensuring my car and belongings would not go missing with the price. Who knows, half of my items were stolen as I got back my car.  Initially, the staff including custom officers thought I was a sweet-looking innocent teacher who just got transferred back here. They were saying that I was draining my money for shipping the car to and fro within one year... I just ignored!! But the moment I found out the graduation gift-Doraemon plush toy was not in place, half of the sealed boxes were tore open.. I became another person. I described myself as the prison guard. I s...

My last day in work.

I hate separation and long farewell to the environment and people that I have used to be with. It gives me the uncomfortable feeling and choking sensation as I do not know how to "swallow" it. Eventually, the last day working at the HQ of my work came today. I was so lucky as the boss did not assign me for any work.  Although I had no assignment, yet I still come early as usual. I approached the head xxxx, Mr Es asking about my latest performance. He told me that I had improved but it did not mean that I am doing well in it yet. "You are still have the hope as I can see that you have passion in this job. "You still have time to pick up what is amiss in your profession. Another five years from now, you would be like your other seniors who suck up bosses to advance their career,". He gave me advises on what should I do at the new environment-including buying good books, building good contacts, submit impeccable work to HQ and etc....
