Feb 22, 2016 Source from New Straits Times JOHOR BAHRU: The women, family and Community Development Ministry has set up a  special task force to look into the needs of senior citizens by 2030. Its deputy minister, Datin Paduka Chew Mui Fun, said a study by the ministry showed  that the life expectancy rate in the country had increased from 71.4 years in 2005 to 72.5 years   in 2015 for males and 76.2 years (2005) to 77.4 years (2015) for females. This means that Malaysia will achieve Old Age Country status, where 15 per cent of the population  would be 60 and above, by 2030. I had recently visited husband’s house during Chinese New Year break. Although I have been expecting the house will be messy, but I still shocked with the condition. Things in the kitchen seem to be never touched by the house residents, thus dust, and other oily stuff stuck there and hardly removed. After cleaning them up, just realised the kitchen does not even have a proper knife. I had to use butter knife to chop off my onion. The whole household went back to their hometown during the festival week, but none of them switch off the fridge. It is quite dangerous should there’s short circuit but also good thing because it has prevented perishable and some even had expired to stay “fresh” for longer period.  Pity those who live in Kelantan where the water quality is at the lowest. My toddler at 2.5-year-old. When she turns 2 last year, I was thinking to myself whether I could handle the #terribletwo episodes for twelve months alone. Six months have passed, I am glad I could pull through because it doesn’t seem to occur on daily basis. I would describe it as once in a blue moon. KupiKupifm a new local radio station, similar concept to existing KKfm will be officially airing on Jan 19, 2016 at frequency 96.3 MHz. Their tagline #kitakitajugabaini  features famous people as their announcers for the five segments during weekdays.
