Sinalau Bakas, the best food in Sabah, said an Orang Putih.

It is a shame that as a local, I only get interested to taste fresh Sinalau Bakas at Kampung Kelawat. A stop enroute to Kundasang from Tamparuli. Just key in Kampung kelawat in waze or google maps for the direction.  In this post, I will share my own experience having the food at the Kampung.  Meet Mariana, a local who runs the stall for the past eight years. She gets the supply from Lahad Datu.  Fresh wild boar grilled above low fire made the meat tender and fragrant.  RM20 per kilogramme.  You may choose the fatty part or lean meats. It is priced at RM20 per kilogramme. Some said the meat used to cost at RM15 per kilogramme only.  A choice of the fatty part or ribs.  I recommend to try both. The fatty part is not that "oily" as you will taste the juice oozing out as you chew them in your mouth.
