Would our grandchildren blame existing human beings for leaving them world full of rubbish?

Source: Maoistrebelnews As a mom in 30s, I resent my ancestors evertime the weather is damn hot and intolerable. I blame them for keeping on destroying all the greens and polluting rivers in their days so call to give better lives for the next generation. The previous generations or so called the "modern" people kept on implying that using plastic is cool, buying is sort of a symbol of status, in contrary to reusing or upcycling is only meant for those who have no money and etc. Recently, I attended a seminar on Environmental issues. One of them is on waste.  Here I share the statistic from Journal of Science 2015. 1. In 2010, 99.5 million tonnes plastic were produced from 192 countries bordering the sea and led about 12.7 million tonnes went into the ocean. 2. It is estimated that each person on average consume 18gramme, or a size of credit card, in their daily food intake ie the fish, the sea salt which contain microplastic. 2. As for e-waste collection in

Oppss...."single mother" soon to lose a job? How to cope?

A circular has been issued to notify staff that possible retrenchment would be done due to the company's poor financial situation.  Working in that "dying" nature of business, it is inevitable to lose the job. It is sooner or later. The list would be out by end of December. It means that Christmas would not be the same celebration as years before as I need to be emotionally ready, in case my name would be in the list.  Before this, I was hoping to have a change of career that I could have fixed working hours to look after my kid on weekends and public holiday, or spend some time to experience the "full time housewife" work doing some good cooking, sewing and gardening.  In fact, all this while, I do hope to open a daycare or tuition center as I know there is demand of this services.   But strange...that I am quite afraid to lose my job, which somehow defines who I am. Worse, to lose the freedom to earn and spend own money. To make it clear

Is it okay for a couple opts for no children?

Came across an article by The New Straits Times on "Many couples choose not to have children".  It is an interesting article that discuss at length of the reasons that married couples are looking into such direction. Briefly, reasons behind the decision include inability to conceive; hardly to survive financially even with double-income family; as well as career-oriented. What shocked me more is the article stated that besides women focusing on career, it also highlighted that a marriage institution nowadays is more to high-ranking men telling their wives "you would be lucky if you see me tonight" due to job commitment. I believe it is a tough decision for every couple when it comes to whether having or not having own kids. Another human in the family, especially minors, mean there would be more expenses incured. On today's world, where everything require money. Is it wise to have many kids? Perhaply two would be ideal or maximum for family who come fr

What to expect in raising a 6-year-old child?

Daughter is turning 6 in few more weeks. It was another memorable period spent with her to see how she grows from total dependent to partial independent kid. COGNITIVE  The first six years are indeed a crucial period for parents to instill what is right or wrong, the house principle and etc.  I am glad that my girl has the idea that drink a lot of water, avoid sugary, vegetables and fruits are good for your health, always wash hands, and sleep boost her immune system.  Another thing is we do let her know about environmental especially on the issue of single-use plastic killed marine life such as turtles.  As she is already attending preschool, it is undeniable that she gets influenced by her friends and teachers on certain beliefs...and the way they speak (which is not necessarily positive) . But, I keep on reinforce the right value, although it may or may not register on her mind. After all, the kid spends 8 hours a day at school for five days.  PHYSICAL DE

Majority of Sabah people want state government to impose smoking ban.

When the Health Ministry announced on imposing smoking ban at eateries on Oct in 2018, I could be among majority who had been suffering passive smoking who jumped for joy over the regulations. Sadly, Sabah government ministers are not for the laws when it is supposed to come into effect on Jan 1, 2019. It is only after the implementation that they want to have cabinet meeting to discuss whether or not to go for it. It is even annoying to learn that those new state ministers have yet to come back to work from December long leave whereas other children have began their school albeit being reluctant to attend on the first day of 2019. (I am trying to say, newbies or rookies should work hard and learn as much as possible….they should not celebrating their victory or taking rest for so long after assuming the office for just 7 months). Netizens have been slamming the ignorance and S**** of comments made by some reachable ministers. It is surprising on how they deem banning people
