Huawei Band 3 spoilt exactly three days after the warranty void.

Bought this Huawei Band 3 smartwatch few days before my birthday last year.

The price was RM239. It is slightly expensive than those I used to buy. Since it is Huawei, I thought it would last longer, but the same fate happened to it.

But I won't deny it is a better version of smartwatch as it tracked the steps better.

My previous watch even recorded my hand movement in playing drum or bumpy car ride as "steps".

However, as for tracking my distance/stride, the ability for Huawei watch is slightly lacking.

I ran on a 400-metre track, but the GPS gave less distance for that measured distance.

If you are concern about your sleep, this band gives quite precise analysis. Another plus point is the charging method, instead of diassamble the piece, this model allows user to charge it directly using USB cable.

Its waterproof feature also allowed me to track my swimming activities and bring it to shower. Somehow, I wonder whether bringing them into water make its lifespan shorter.

Unfortunately, the LCD screen went blank right after it reaches the one-year warranty period.

Brought it to Huawei Customer Services at Karamunsing Complex, with hope that they could at least replace or fix the LCD screen.

However, the customer service personnel said Huawei would replace one-to-one without limit should the watch breaks down within the warranty period. Since mine had exceeded, he suggested I buy another one.

MASS DISPOSAL of E-waste

As I mentioned earlier, I have bought several smartwatch and all of them did not last long. In other words, I have contributed a lot e-waste to the landfill.

Hoping that the companies would be more responsible in manufacturing products that could last longer to save the earth. At least three years?

Anyone might argue that I should buy something more expensive watch so that it could last longer, but,not everyone can afford them.

Since I cannot afford to buy expensive smartwatch, I just keep myself moving the whole day and track my workout using phone.
