Tips on how to be a welcomed intern.

Being freshly graduated or just in final year is not an excuse for an intern to be slack or being too dependent on seniors.

After years of exposure to knowledge in University, those preparation should be equipped a newbie to be useful for 40 per cent in any organisation. It would be unfortunate for everyone if the intern does not score well or being serious in his or study as the seniors end up in teaching from the VERY basic or precisely babysitting them while there are already tonne of work.

Internship is supposed to be beneficial for both interns in terms of gaining experience and staff is to share load.

On first few days, it is understandable anyone new to a company need time to adjust or understand their roles. Be nice and humble to staff in the office including cleaners, do say Hi and please introduce yourself. The staff need to know what to call you, or the purpose a new face is hanging around the property.

Learn as fast as possible on Do's and Don'ts.
The typical unacceptable behavior such as playing too much phones at work or in conversation is annoying, laughing and talking too much or in high pitched kill people, no facial expression on any circumstances is even weirder.

Thousands of excuse on not coming to work, late in submitting assignment and etc are just a sign of incompetent or laziness.

Never lie or boasting.

Wear jeans in corporate function? NO!!!!

Taking staff's belongings without permission is stealing!

Gossip senior?you dont want the senior finds out about it.

DO
Be enthusiastic on your work...do more than what you are told?show your interest on the assignment and smile when there's a compliment.

Do say thank you and admit wrong when it is truly your fault.

Though internship means the interrn has not much money, a small treat even homemade cupcakes for farewell party will be appreciated. The boss might hire you for job!

**above tips is based on personal experience dealing with few interns every year.
