Documents required to register children at Public schools in Malaysia
Below are the required documents to register your children at Public schools in Malaysia.
The registration has to be made as early as two years before the kids turn 7-year-old, this us to secure their enrollment at a school desired by parents. The registration is usually begin in March 1 until end of the month.
1. Kindergarten latest payment receipt
2. Original and Certified photocopy of Children Mykid AND birth certificate
3.Certified photocopy of parents' Mykads
4. Photocopy of latest water/electricity bill
5. Two pieces of children's passport photos
6. Pay Slip of 1 month for both parents
7. Marriage certificate.
Additional cases
8. Child adoption certificate
9. Divorce certificate

Certification.
Certification of documents as mentioned can be done at National Registration Department. The easiest and most convenient place to get it done is at Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Sembulan, Kota Kinabalu.
While there is a photocopy station on the ground floor, but it is better do have all necessary documents copied at somewhere else, unless you don't mind paying RM1 per paper at UTC.
I get mine done around 8am, where there are ample parking at the UTC and less people at the department located at Level 2. (Skip the lift, you reach faster if use stairs)
Prepare original and photocopy, when your number is being called, the staff will request the original and photocopied documents to be verified.
I managed to settle within 15 minutes, thus the parking is free.

Filling the form (the form can be obtained from the school)
Another tedious paperwork to do...
Especially when it asks how old will your child be when he or she is in January 1, 2020? That's a question to test parents' arithmetic skill.
Anyway, here is the link to calculate the age on said date. The result will be on number of days, and enter the days in this link for the web to calculate how many years and months.
