Preparation for Pegawai Tadbir Diplomatik M41 interview-Part I
Despite my "naughty" posts in this blog, it didn't jeopardise my chance to be called for the last phase of getting recruited as a pegawai tadbir diplomatik. Initially, I did presume those people in public service commission would search me with the IP adress and ban me for forever.
For the last two assessment, I did not prepare much as I just didn't feel like or know what to prepare (except the running part). But this time, I just had the gut that I have to prepare in term of knowledge, and how to attend "government" interview. And I feel like jotting the notes here might be beneficial to others as well.
Knowledge:
Job description:
It is a managerial or administrative work in implementing national policy, executing and monitoring the programmes under the policy.
And of course this post has specialisation areas in International Relations and Foreign Affairs, National Security and Defense, Information and Communications Technology Management, Administration and Regional Development / Land / District / Local Planning and Social Administration / Infrastructure, Human Resource Management and Organization, Resource Management Economy.

PEGAWAI TADBIR DAN DIPLOMATIK is just a GENERAL NAME. Someone who has been recruited will possibly hold few positions:
Chief Secretary/Ketua Setiausaha Negara
- In laymen term is the first person that Prime Minister will look for when anything goes right/wrong.
-Most of the time, he will have to take care or watch over the public service servants (regardless of their ranking) around the country.
- The post is currently hold by Dato' Sri Dr Ali Hamsa since June 2012.
Secretary General
- More or less is about the same as chief secretary, but his/her jurisdiction is limited within the ministry.
-For example,Tan Sri Mohd Radzi bin Abdul Rahman is the 13th secretary general of Foreign Affairs Ministry who had been an ambassadors to many countries.
Director General
- A title given to the highest executive officer within governmental, statutory, NGO, or any institution.
-laymen term, big boss of all the directors under the same institution.
- Former Health director-general Datuk Seri Dr Hasan Abdul Rahman.
State Secretary
-The Secretary of State is the head of the public service in his/her state.
-Sabah State Secretary is DSP Sukarti Wakiman, appointed by state governor.
Ambassador or High Excellency.
-Government representative stationed in a foreign countries.
- Ever notice that some ambassadors are addressed as high commissioner? They are those ambassadors exchanged among members of the Commonwealth of Nations.
District Officer.
-Each district has a District Office (Pejabat Daerah), headed by a District Officer, which mainly deals with land administration.
- Land administration covers the processes of transfer of rights in land from one party to another through sale, lease, loan, gift and inheritance; the regulating of land and property development; the use and conservation of the land; the gathering of revenues from the land through sales, leasing, and taxation; and the resolving of conflicts concerning the ownership and the use of land.
