KupiKupifm to be on air officially on Jan 19, 2016.
KupiKupifm a new local radio station, similar concept to existing KKfm will be officially airing on Jan 19, 2016 at frequency 96.3 MHz.
Their tagline #kitakitajugabaini features famous people as their announcers for the five segments during weekdays. They are Janrywine who sings the hit single "Macam di KK", Akademi Fantasia finalists Velvet and Nera, Gerg and Niz for the breakfast show.
The frequency of the radio transmitted as far as to Kuala Penyu and Kota Belud.
Its manager Lester Calvin says 80 per cent of the songs will be from the collection of Sabah ethnics songs thus it opens up more opportunity for local artistes to have their masterpieces to be broadcasted to listeners
"There is no specific criteria for public to submit their music pieces...just send in and we will analyse it. We even accept instrumental music.
"This community based radio station is really a platform for the locals to showcase their talents for the people".
Twenty per cent will be allocated for English, Chinese and other songs.
There will be a launching of the radio station on Jan 28, and a concert is expected to be held in February.
