Hari Peladang 2012

Came across this old pictures in external hard disk. The three- day programme where all farmers, fishermen and Breeders from around the state gathered here to market their products.

It is a worthy visit for public as they are many things that are not available in the state capital city for people to see and eat.

Few days prior to the event, the state Agriculture minister highlighted on the seafood feast.

On the first day of the event, I had problem to park my car as people were already flooding the area despite it was a hot day to be with other crowds.

I headed to the seafood area, and was welcomed by an uncle when I approached his deep-fried Keropok Lekor. It is quite cheap, sold at RM1 per 250cc cup. But, the food contains more flour than the fish.

The next thing that captured my attention was the baked Oyster, harvested from Tuaran river, they served it with lime and chilies condiments. taste good, but it caused me purging afterwards.

The local pickles namely Bambangan and Tuhau are also available at the feast. Bambangan is made of wild mango added with its grated seed, meanwhile Tuhau is a wild bamboo preserved with vinegar.

other food that are usually fond by tourists...

The DESA milk, locally produced, is of course a little pricey (RM3++) for 250ml, but I love the natural sweetness that it has.
